This course is designed to enhance safe vehicle operation by stressing theory and principles of defensive driving in both emergency and nonemergency situations. Vehicle laws pertinent to the operation of emergency vehicles is included in the course. This class is not designed to teach the student to drive, but rather to explain how emergency driving differs from nonemergency driving. Although some driving experience will be gained through the practical exercises, it is strongly recommended that the student have adequate driving experience in the vehicle.


Prerequisites:  Students must have a valid driver’s license in order to participate in the practical exercises. Students must be 18 years of age (minimum) to attend and receive certification.  Students must bring signed documentation from their District Chief stating they have experience in non emergency driving in the largest piece of apparatus  they are driving through the cone course.

Cost:  No Cost.

Registration:  Training Registration must be completed online at www.warrencountyfire.com by Wednesday, October 26th.
