Course Description:
Emphasis is on a more in depth use of the 12-lead ECG and the critical thinking surrounding the cath-lab activation. Topics covered will include: Review of the essentials of STEMI recognition, The top 5 STEMI impostors, Suspecting a STEMI in the presence of a top STEMI impostor, When and how to use additional leads (15 and 18 lead ECGs), A systematic approach to STEMI recognition, How to Integrate the clinical presentation and your devices interpretive statement into your interpretation, Using the 12-lead ECG to better understand and manage the AV block and Capnography in the emergency setting for more than just respiratory patients.
Instructor Bio:
Tim Phalen has provided ECG and Capnography education to over 75,000 healthcare providers in the United States, Canada, and overseas. Prerequisites:
Certified as an EMT, Advanced EMT, EMT – Intermediate, EMT – Paramedic or Paramedic. OEMS CE awarded for attending.
