This 56 hour course involves detailed instruction on the operation, maintenance, and design of pumping fire apparatus. Modules include: Water Supplies and Sources for Fire Fighting; Fire Pump Theory, Operating Fire Pumps, Fire Service Hydraulics, and Driving Emergency Vehicle Operations. The content of this program is based on the most current edition of the NFPA 1002 Standard and meets the training requirements of the WCFR Driver/Operator Training and Release Manual.
Classes will vary between Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays
Prerequisites: Firefighter Level I (new) or Firefighter Level II (old), students are encouraged to have some basic knowledge of the operation of fire apparatus. Students must be EVOC certified (minimum of S-3). This course is Pro Board certified.
Departments that sponsor students will be required to supply apparatus for practical sessions.
