The New Volunteer Orientation Program was developed by the Recruitment and Retention Committee of WCFR to highlight the need for volunteers in Fire and EMS Services. This program will provide an overview of the entire Department of Fire and Rescue Services and will discuss the challenges the new volunteer will face through the training process, emergency response and continued involvement in the volunteer service. The "new" volunteer will learn from his/her peer's new and innovative ways to overcome the challenges that often result in the loss of a volunteer firefighter or EMT.
During the course, the new volunteer will learn the training progression of Fire, EMS, and Driver certifications and the requirements and commitments of each.
