2021 Firefighter Academy 

Interest and Intent Registration 

Academy Start Date: August 04,  2021

Times:  Mondays:  1830 hrs - 2230 hrs

               Wednesdays:   1830 hrs - 2230 hrs

               Various: Saturdays & Sundays: 0800 hrs - 1700 hrs

The Purpose of this registration is to see if there is enough demand to hold the 2021 Volunteer Fire Academy.  The decision will be based on the number of WCFR Registrants coupled with any external registrations.  

An entry level course for new firefighters.  Course consists of a combination of classroom study, scenarios and modular practical experiences that will prepare the firefighter to carry out fireground functions under the direct supervision and indirect supervision of an officer or experienced firefighter.  The scenarios are designed to train the student in realistic fireground operations.

Prerequisites:  Students must be at least 16 years of age in order to enroll in the course.  Junior Firefighters must comply with all Junior Firefighters pre-requisites as defined by Department of Labor and Industry (DOLI) standards.  Student must be a member of a recognized Fire Department with District Chief approval to attend.  Students must bring full turnout gear and SCBA with spare cylinder to all sessions.

Cost:  Personnel affiliated with WCFR: No Cost with Station Approval   

Non-affiliated Personnel: $400.00 (due first night of class) 

Intent Registration is to be submitted online by  July 14, 2021.
